I had been stopping by Hillside occasionally for a while, always enjoying myself. I am a beer and a shot kind of guy and they have plenty of both there. Service was always good and there was a good mix of friendly regulars and people from the neighborhood, like myself. Chill atmosphere and free peanuts didn't hurt either.

What brought my rating up to 5 stars was their trivia night. My friends and I had been looking for a trivia night on the Hill that worked with our schedule. Hillside has one the first Wednesday of every month. We tried it a few times and LOVED it! The questions were a good mix of easy and challenging. There were 3 rounds. Some specific categories and some random. The winning team received the cash pot from the entry fees. What we really liked was that the team that came in last won a free pitcher of Olympia beer. We almost considered bombing just to get the free beer. :)

The host is entertaining and fun. We have gone twice now and will definitely be back! Even if you are not into trivia, Hillside is a great place to have some cocktails with good friends and maybe even make a few new ones.

Great place. East coast vibes and atmosphere where the seattle freeze is just a myth. Drinks are poured great and everyone is so friendly and open to talking.

great diverse gem here. boy oh boy did I have fun. Met up with friends here after 30 years away from seattle. This place reminded me of the way it used to be, because nowadays, its nothing like it was.

enjoyed everyone here. The bartender was spot on, the music, great. I loved having our dog with us, and more. I will be back on the next visit.
